Reports from various sources across the net confirms that Google and Orange is entering into a multi-billion dollar partnership to launch a Google phone.
The plan is to create a branded Google phone which would also carry an Orange logo. The device is to be manufactured by HTC, the Taiwanese firm that is already a well known name in the field of Smart phones and PDA's.
The device would carry a Google software which would dramatically improve on the slow and cumbersome experience of surfing the web from a mobile handset.
According to the report in Obeserver.guardian "Among the potential benefits are location-based searches: aware of your handset's geographical position, Google could offer a tailored list of local cinemas, restaurants and other amenities, and maps and images from Google Earth. It is believed that the Google phone would not go on sale before 2008."
