Intel 45-nm processor coming out in January

The big news in the computing sphere these days is the new processor family from Intel, set to be released in January 2008.
The Penryn family is a Core 2 chip based on the 45 nanometer process - one of the special advancements is the debut of a hafnium based dielectric. Halfnium is an exciting new material because it reduces the voltage that is required to turn on the chip transistors, meaning less power consumptio and, more importantly, less heat produced.
DailyTech recently found out that the new family of chips will come out on January 6, 2008.
The T8100 chip is the low-end range, only pumping out 2.1 GHz, with 3 MB L2 Cache - that'll set you back just $209.
But if you want to get ahead in the game, get the sleekest, newest chip on the block, so you can impress the friends and seduce the women, you'll need the X9000. The 'X' in X9000 means it's from the future, where the world is filled with 2.8 GHz processors, costing $851 in today's dollars.
